QUOTE (Venefica vom Lehn @ Sep 13 2006, 06:05 PM) ...You can feel - at least that's my impression - that it wasn't completely set in the Middle-earth of the Silmarillion , but more in a place that's got quite a lot of things in common with our world. Actually Vene (may nobody else than me feels thi...

For being honest, Harry Potter got into my life the other way round (taking as a starting point for example The Lord Of The Rings)
What do I mean with this? Simple! I first saw the movie and then dived into Harry Potter’s books.
I saw the movie in November 2001 when it was just released here in my country. I loved it really much, but it stayed there, because at that time my head was in the upcoming movie of December: The Fellowship of the Ring /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
After saw that movie I came out from the cinema delighted with P. Jackson’s film but feeling that there were so many things missed in the movie that I definitely would not change it from the magic of reading the book.
Once at home, I was talking about that with a friend who said: “hey! May the same is with Harry Potterâ€. And she woke up in me the intrigue of what if she is right? What if in the book there are things that really had been missed and are crucial also as I felt with Tolkien’s?
Went to bed with all in my mind and the next day I went to a bookstore and bought my copy of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone†/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
How the story continued? Well is mostly known: I ended the first book, got the second, then the third, the fourth, the fifth and now I’m waiting for be able to get my copy of the last one (for now /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> )
So, as you all may read, tough Harry Potter came into my life by a movie I loved, the guilty of making him part of my personal library collection and a fan of his books is: The Lord of the Rings…
Does it sound strange? Not to me! /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

Hello to everyone! My name is Ceri, which is a short form of Ceridwen, a welsh name full of magic, as it belong to an ancient goddess. I'm a brand new 1st. year student, sorted in Gryffindor. Not young as much as I read but also a huge fan of Harry Potter. Hope to make of this a hard work - learning...
