Re: Seen and Unseen

I can think of so many, but I would have loved to have seen Harry and Dumbledore staring at the Dark Mark while they flew towards Hogwarts on their borrowed brooms. Dumbledore's funeral would have been spectacular on film as well!

Re: Creature Magic: What's Your Favorite Magical Beast?

My favorite creature for a long time has been the owl, but recently I've become enamored with combo creatures: creatures which are made up of more than one animal. My absolute favorite is the Occamy. I love the turquoise and purple, and the soft silvery eggs, and a snake with wings and chicken head ...

2. In the same thread, reply to someone else's post explaining whether or not you agree with their translation. Make sure to choose a different word than the one you chose for the previous part! 'Fasi ʃem tina snek ʃena koeslʃe.' A possible definition for snek is 'snake'. Part of why saying that is...

Re: Unique Ice Cream Flavors

I've enjoyed many, if not most, of Ben & Jerry's, and so far my favorite is Phish Food, described as, "Chocolate Ice Cream with Gooey Marshmallow Swirls, Caramel Swirls & Fudge."

Chocolate, caramel, fudge, and marshmallows. Love this stuff!

https://i.imgur.com/BQ7tEqJ.jpg hapaun “Rabbit” - the closest translation would be “ hop-pound” without the final “d” I showed this photo to my Ribbon Snake friend, Desa, who immediately coiled and explained she really does not like “hapaun.” She says their hopping around makes her jittery, and she...

Re: Lesson 2 - Choose your own Snake

https://i.imgur.com/m5jRTrN.jpg Meet Desa! Desa is a Ribbon Snake, which is a common species of Garter Snake. Ribbon Snakes are a bit longer and thinner than the average Garter Snake, though, averaging between 16 to 35 inches in length. They are commonly found in the Eastern part of the United Stat...

Re: Lesson 2 - Critical Inference

'Tasi doʃe kura stabsle gara sliʃe athne.' Image 1: stabsle. I think “stabsle” would be translated as “table.” The word ends in “le” which doesn't seem to be an adjective or an adverb, and based on its location in the sentence it doesn't seem to be either a demonstrative pronoun or an interrogative ...

Re: Names!

I chose my name because I wanted something a bit odd, like many characters in the series. I love alliteration, so I knew I wanted 2 of the same letters. Ice cream is my absolute favorite food, and after reading about Florean Fortescue's backstory (the one Rowling decided not to use), and also becaus...

Re: Lesson 1 - Introduction

Hello! I'm February Fortescue (or, as I have attempted to write my name in Parseltongue in Assignment One, Febi'uvairi Forteski'u!) I'm a second year Slytherin. I love languages in general and tearing into them. Although my degree is in Social Work, I also studied French and Russian. Russian doesn't...
