Re: No! Don't kill them! (Character you cried over most)
Hmmm, what was the hardest death for me? I'm thinking Remus and Tonks are up there. I always really connected to Remus and I love that he had found someone and Tonks was so cool. It felt like it was all coming together and..then it was over. I think that was the saddest death. Hardest one was actual...

Re: Book Reading Challenges
Aww, I'm sorry to have missed that Reading Quest, it sounds like it would have been fun. Maybe they'll do it again next year? I used to do the summer reading thing when I was a kid, but I haven't really done any since. But I'm thinking I might start looking for some of those things to help me boost ...

Re: TV Show Revivals
*revives the thread* I'm not sure how I feel persay...I haven't had the urge to watch a sequel/revival show of one I watched when I was younger. At the same time, I'm a fan of a show that's a reboot of an oldie, Hawaii 5-0. I think ultimately for me, it feels a little more like cashing in on an easy...

*level 80 human engineer walks in, lighting up a bomb to awaken the thread* Although my new necro might have worked better for a dead thread, lol. But mostly, I'm looking to see if anyone else has started playing the game. How is everyone liking the Heart of Thrones expansion? Looking forward to the...

Re: Movie Adaptations of Books
I'll join you in the "LOTR movies are better then the books' camp! I think because at least some of the...extra detail work was skimmed down for the movie, so it was easier to follow the plot. At least that was my problem reading it. One movie adaptation I kinda want to see is "Bridge to Terabitha"....

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Finally watched this a few months ago, so I can finally review it. (Still haven't seen Episode 7 though :( ) Don't know if I have to still do spoilers, but warning at least? I actually really enjoyed it. Even the ending, which made me incredibly sad (and I don't neccessarily agree with it a hundred ...

Re: What Book Are You Reading?
*kicks the thread back into gear for the new school year* So I've started (well I had about a week ago, but I'm getting back to it) The Witcher. I'm not 100% in love with it, bu I'm not that far into it. Most interesting thing about it is the different folklore then what I'm used to. The writer is f...

Re: Favourite Genre?
Fantasy is always a standby favorite for me. Although the last few years, I've moved away from epic fantasy to more gritty, not as flashy. Or urban fantasy, which tends to blend in alot of crime or detective stories into them. Which is another favorite genre of mine. I actually went through a spree ...

Re: Whose Stone is it Anyway?
I'll have to agree it's more cultural differences. It's sort of like jumper. In Britain, it means 'sweater'. In America, it means 'a dress with shoulder straps that you wear over a shirt'. Definitely just a very different visual the reader is going to get. Philosopher still makes me think of people ...

Re: Does Magic Last?
I came into the Harry Potter fandom around the time the second book came out. I don't know if I was deliberately avoiding it because it was popular or just hadn't gotten around to reading it. But once I did start reading it, I was completely absorbed into the world. It already helped that I loved (a...

Re: The Big Bang Theory
Some of the people I know compare me to Raj, since I suppose I have the same issues of having trouble speaking, though mine is more generalized then his. (No matter what my friends say  ) Howard and Bernedette are alright, but they're definitely not my favorite part of the show. As far as ...

Re: Doctor Who!
If you have an Amazon Prime account, they have the series 1-4 on there I believe. But yeah, Bill is a stand out companion and she only seems to get better each episode. The third episode has been my favorite so far, and I'll leave it there to avoid spoilers. But even Capaldi's energy with Bill is so...

Re: Doctor Who!
Yeah, I was never the biggest fan of 'the person' myself. She had some good moments, but it never quite felt like the writers knew what they wanted to do and she always came off as bossy or fussy. But with Bill, it's like a breath of fresh air. Everything feels so much better and oddly, lighter now....

What's your thoughts on Bill, the new companion? I think she's absolutely wonderful and this season is fantastic so...

Re: The Big Bang Theory
As someone else who's recently been dragged into the show, I can relate. :P Probably my favorite character is maybe either Sheldon or Leonard. What I think I like most about this, is where alot of comedies (from my experience) tends to rely on slapstick or very silly, this show is a lot more sarcast...

I've not tried the camp, but I've tried the november one. And failed all three times. Although I have figured out that maybe I need to come up with some sort of outline for it, because what hurt me everytime was not knowing where to go next. So maybe this november will be different?

Hello all, I'm Lavinia, or Nina for short. I'm a fifth year and cannot believe it. Time goes so quickly! I chose to take this class as I love mythology of all kinds, and Greek is no exception. I'm not sure i have a particular goal in taking this class, beyond expanding my current knowledge of Greek ...
