I haven't read the book yet, but I've seen the movie version, which was...not very good, in my opinion. I've heard that the book is much better though- would you all agree? It's been on my internal list of books to read for a while now, I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

I play the piano, cello, and I'm a percussionist...not all at the same time, of course :P . I've played the piano for about 22 years or so, just for fun. I taught myself how to play and have never had lessons but it's fun :) . I was a percussionist for 7 years in school and was in an African Marimba...

There are lots of great recommendations on here! I can't wait to give them all a listen. :) I definitely have to second an earlier recommendation for Muse - they are one of my all-time favorite bands! I'd also recommend Adele - she has such a great, soulful, sound for someone so young (I think she's...

QUOTE (Lani Sil-Aria @ Jul 12 2011, 03:01 PM) I really enjoyed it when I read it, its totally different to the current books out at the moment, there are rumours that there will be more. Lani Lani, do you mean more books, like a sequel, to The Host? I have to agree with everyone in this thread so f...

I think..at the end of the battle, after Gandalf has shown up and they've won. It's their "final tally", right? I'm getting all my Legolas-Gimli banter confused :P

I think it's Gimli, talking to Legolas (at the battle of Helm's Deep??).

Before I went to LeakyCon last month I wanted to find out more about Nerdfighters, since John and Hank were both going to be there. I've watched a lot of the Brotherhood 2.0 videos, and loved them! I also finally read one of John's books- An Abundance of Katherines- and really enjoyed it! I have Pap...

My favorite series (I couldn't decide on a top one between these) are:

- The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
- Harry Potter by JK Rowling
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
- Sevenwaters by Juliet Marillier

They are all books that I can read again and again and still find something new to love!

This year I've actually been keeping track of which books I read so that I know the real answer to this question! My goal for the year is 100, and I have read 53 so far (I'm a bit behind).

This is a fun discussion! I've enjoyed reading everyone's reasons behind their names! :) Kate = I've just always loved this name. I think it's pretty, and I really like names that are already short (I'm a huge fan of nicknames, and this one doesn't even need one, because it's already nice and short!...
