The HOL Schoolyear is divided into two terms, which are only relevant for classes. HOL Classes can run over one term or two terms.

House Points can be earned (and lost) during the whole school year. The HOL House Cup is awarded after the House Points table is closed, and the months of July and August mark the summer holidays when no points can be won or lost, no classes will be held, and no contests and competitions will be run HOL Wide. However, under certain circumstances (summer projects, rules violations) points can be recorded over the summer and will be awarded after September 1st for the next school year. Actual dates will vary per year.

- Summer Break: July-August
- Christmas Holidays: 3rd Saturday in December - 2nd Sunday in January
