How to Sign Up

The sign-up procedure is explained in detail in the HOL Admission Office. It is recommended for every student to complete all seven steps of the sign-up, in order to become an active member of HOL. The steps are as follows:
STEP 1: Register your HOL Name
Please read the instructions on valid HOL Names carefully. If you sign up with an invalid name, your student file WILL be deleted by the admins, even after the sorting, and you will have to re-signup with a valid name.
STEP 2: Entry Exam
Your name has to be registered (STEP 1) first, or your exam will not count. You must get at least 90% on the exam in order to pass. The Entry Exam has been added to make sure that you know what HOL is about before you are joining. All the answers can be found on the HOL pages, especially in the HOL Wiki. You can get any help you want for the Exam questions, and retake it as many times you need to. A submitted Entry Exam will be graded instantly, and if you pass you can put on the Sorting Hat immediately afterwards.
STEP 3: Sorting Hat
Please spell your registered HOL Name correctly, or your sorting will not work! You also must have passed the Entry Exam. You may only be sorted once, and ONLY once. If you put on the Sorting Hat more than once, you will not get any results. Please take your time to answer the Sorting Hat's questions, and do not forget: hit the final button ONCE!
STEP 4: Get your Student-ID
You will get your permanent HOL-ID when you have completed the sorting. It will start with the first two letters of your name, followed by a 3- or 4-digit number. Please do not forget this ID, as you will need it throughout HOL.
STEP 5: Register for the HOL Office
The HOL Office is where you see your profile and student file (house points, awards, trading card, friends, and so on). You must create a password for accessing the office. Please enter your HOL-ID in the form and follow the instructions.
STEP 6: Register for the HOL Forum
If you did not register for the HOL Forum prior to registering for HOL, please do so now. Use your full HOL-Name to register.
STEP 7: Register for your Common Room
Each house in HOL has its own house forum, or common room. Please register for your common room now.
