The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and Rule applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. The Act and Rule also cover other types of information - for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms - when they are tied to individually identifiable information.

HOL does not collect any individually identifiable information from its visitors. We do only collect e-mail addresses of those who register for HOL so we may communicate by e-mail only for HOL matters as classes and contests. Children, age 12 or younger, need parental approval before they can join HOL. We do not use cookies to store individually identifiable information.

This site may link to external chat rooms, forums, message boards, and email discussion groups. Those areas are external services, free for everyone and not located on HOL servers. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. We strongly encourage everyone to use a fantasy nickname for communication in the boards and chats, and a webbased email address for signing-up.
