Favorite Harry Potter Christmas moment

Post by Galena May »

There have been so many Christmas moments and scenes in the Harry Potter books and movies and their sequels or prequels, for example, one could look at the Christmas before Harry Potter's time (Do you play Hogwarts Mystery?). Which one is your favorite?
Mine would be Harry's first Christmas at Hogwarts. It was like rediscovering himself, a representation of his transition into the magical world. He discovers his true magical world dreams in the Mirror of Erised, receives the Invisibility Cloak (which is later revealed to be a family heirloom of his true magical ancestors) which later accompanies him on all of his adventures in the magical world, and he chooses Hogwarts over staying with the Dursleys indicating that he had found his new true family in the wizarding world and he also receives his first true Christmas present (Christmas sweater from the Burrow from the Weasleys) from his new family in the magical world as opposed to the near-to-none presents that he had had until then at the Dursleys. It is such a magical moment for him. For me, it is the moment that makes me realise with full force that Harry's real world was the magical one, not the Muggle one, and he realizes for the first time that his true family was in the wizarding world.
