All the pets I've had were already named by the time they came into my life but I often daydream about what fandom related monikers I might have chosen if I'd needed to. I'm still overjoyed that my mother decided to name one of her cats Baggins (after Bilbo and Frodo of LOTR) and my friends old Rottweiler was more formally known as Harry Rotter (even receiving home made Hogwarts Acceptance Letter shaped dog treats on his 11th Birthday). Obviously, my guide dog Lara's name has been extended to 'Lara Croft, Bin Raider' and I announce to anyone who will listen that she's a proud Hufflewoof.
Do you have (or have you met or heard of) any pets with names inspired by the Wizarding World? Do you have any plans for future pets?
(Thanks to Tarma for the inspiration for this post)

You are welcome, Sky.
I was thinking of this; you took a basic idea and expanded it in a direction that I'd not thought of. Then it continued expanding and I realized I have a huge teddy-bear.
His name is ... Freddy Bear. Not that his name has anything to do with one of my favorite Harry Potter people or anything like that ....
Yes, I think that names do sort of be reflected in one's environment. Generally anyone new coming into my life already has a name, as you say. But if I were to add more pets (or plants) to my family, and they were not already named, one of them might end up being called 'Oliver' (if that fit). There are a bunch of names, though, that could be used, depending on their personality!

I know a woman that named her three dogs Luna, Bella and Angie. I never made the connection, but once I jokingly asked her whether their names had anything to do with Harry Potter and she said yes!
As for myself, it is not a pet, but my roomba is named Dobby. It sometimes gets stuck, usually on a sock underneath something that we forgot to clean up. Many jokes are had about masters giving Dobby a sock when that happens.

...also a platonic soulmate and a hot mess of a human being.

I learned today that one of my favourite comedians, Adam Hills, has a new puppy called Albus Dumbledog. I love it.

Re: A Goldfish Called Fluffy
I’ve actually had Harry Potter-inspired pets! Back in middle school, I secretly kept this pair of goldfish in my room that I named “Fred” and “George.” I couldn’t distinguish between the two of them and the names were a perfect excuse to be lazy and not figure out the differences between the two fish. I later added a third fish (also unknown to my parents) and named him “Percy” because he had little markings around his eyes. After I got Percy, I ambitiously considered getting four more goldfish and naming them after the rest of the Weasley siblings but during my week at sleepaway camp, I just left the fish there without food or cleaning their tank and though, thankfully, they were still somehow alive, I knew not to buy any more secret fish. All three ended up dying a few months later but I hope to resume the Weasley heritage if I have any fish in the future.
Also, Sky, Baggins is an adorable name for a cat and Harry Rotter is hilarious! Your mom has impeccable taste in choosing names for her pets
