How Do You Pronounce Your Name?
Moderator: Prefects
Mine isn't as difficult as some other beautyful ones I've seen around, but here we go is pronounced like this...
Ne --> like in NEmesis!
i --> just the common one like in Irish!
a --> more common than ever like in Armchair!
It sounds like Leia but with an "N"...
And well Black such as the colour...
Neia /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

*Puts on guilty expression and lies* I so did not scroll through this whole 34 page topic to make sure I wouldn't be double posting! I've read through everyone's name who I've spoken to at least.. and found out some interesting things. I feel like listing a few.
1. I still can't pronounce Rames. I thought I could before. Still confused on the second vowel sound. *embarrassed*
2. Hari - I started getting your last name the second time through. I really think I almost figured it out.
3. Rai... a bit hard to say. The moi thing. I said it outloud quite a bit.
4. I was very thankful that I could pronounce names like Kimaire and Malien! Worried for a second that the e in Kim's name made a sound, don't know why. And Malien, probably from a while ago.
5. October... wasn't always called October. I never knew that! Edit: Ok fine, maybe I shouldn't have believed that, but I had no idea what it was about. hehe
6. Elyranna Reginhart my twin! I couldn't say your name... I pronounced your first name French ish. No blame in that... lol /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> First nor last... wow.
7. I was never smart enough to post here!!
Leora Lobel
Leora is Hebrew, so if you know the name, no point in reading this.
Le as in Lee
Or as in or
a sounds like uh
the accent is on OR
Lee-or' - uh
But, if you say it all Hebrew like, the r is rolled in the throat, a bit like French, and the O becomes long, as in boat. The a at the the end becomes ah instead of uh. However, I can't think a rolled r in my head, so I say it the English way usually.
Lobel
Lo as in low (high and low)
bel as in bell
bell is accented: low-bell'
I must have posted it in the Roost thread... how could I have not put that here??

My first name is pretty easy - Gwyd rhymes with "lid". Aerlyn is pronounced Air-lin. You should hear the way people slaughter my Real Life name! To make things really bad in elementary and middle school, my last name rhymed with "pukin'" (as in puking), so you can imagine what they called me. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="<_<" border="0" alt="dry.gif" />

I think that my name is fairly straight forward, but I'll explain it for the fun of it anyway!
Steph
st as in stiff
eph as in rhymes with left (without the t)
Rowe
Pronounced the same as row (IE Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream...)
Put it all together, and you (hopefully) get Steph Rowe!!
