The Greatest Showman

Post by Scarlett Lacarnum »

The story of P.T. Barnum comes to life in this movie filled with song, dance and curiosities. There have been some liberties taken in terms of the true story of the man behind Barnum’s, but overall it is an inspiring and colorful tale.

It took me a while to see this but I was initially intrigued. There are so many fun songs that get stuck in your head.

Has anyone seen it? Did anyone else enjoy it? Favorite song?

Does anyone else think this would be good on Broadway or the West End?

I saw it about a month ago. I LOVED it. And the songs were very catchy. I was signing them for days afterwards. I enjoyed everything, the costumes, the special effects, the songs. I would definitely recommend this movie to people.

I feel like this could definitely work on Broadway but a few of the effects such as the circus acts will have to be downsized, and I feel like that could knock off a bit of the charm.

I absolutely love the greatest showman and I love to do the duet like the other side and rewrite the stars with my friends on a car ride or sleep overs.

While I loved the song, "Rewrite the Stars" I didn't like the movie. I didn't think it realistically portrayed P.T. Barnum, his companions, or his world. Even his number of daughters, as well as the ages of the two daughters the movie did include, was incorrect.

But that one song was really beautiful!

Gosh, The Greatest Showman is such a good film. The first time I watched it, I had no idea what I was getting into. I didn't read any synopses and I only knew one song going into it (the intro song).
And I was floored. The visuals were stunning, I felt like I was really, truly at a circus, watching these characters live out their lives in real time. I forgot I was watching a Disney film at first with how incredible all of the acting was. The only critique I have is I wish they chose slightly better singers and used a little less auto tune, but honestly the movie is so good I can overlook that.
