November Prompt: The Middle
Posted: Sun Nov 01, 2020 2:06 am
Can you believe it's already November? Traditionally at Hogwarts, November is known for the start of the Quidditch season - and in other parts of the work November is the time where people go on vacation to a warmer climate. But, here at HOL, it will always be the middle of the fall term - the point where the halfway point is in sight and we are closer to the end of the term than the beginning!
Your task this month is to write at least 75 words that - in at least some way - signifies passing the midpoint of progress towards a goal. The twist is as follows: to signify the fact that November is the middle of the term, each word used must either begin or end with a letter in the middle half of the alphabet (which I will define, for the purposes of this prompt, as the thirteen letters "H", "I", "J", "K", "L", "M", "N", "O", "P", "Q", "R", "S", or "T".) As an example, of the ten most common words in the English language ("the", "of", "and", "a", "to", "in", "is", "you", "that", "it"): "and", "a", and "you" are disallowed but the other seven are fine.
The deadline is November 30 at 11:59 PM HOL; completing this prompt will earn you 25 hoots. (Partial credit will be given in the form of 1 hoot for every 3 words up to 75.)
