June Prompt: Is This The End?

Post by Prof. Will Lestrange »

Are we ready for the final month of the term? This month will mark the END of the school year!

For this month, your task is to write at least 50 words about some sort of conclusion. This month's twist is that each sentence must contain the letters "e", "n", and "d" in order! They can be separated by punctuation or word boundaries, but NOT by any letters or numbers. (For example: "Even Draco was happy." is fine, but "Enid never showed up." was not because there is an "i" between the "n" and "d" in "Enid".) ,

The deadline is June 30 at 11:59 PM HOL; completing this prompt will earn you 20 hoots. (Partial credit will be given in the form of 2 hoots for every 5 words up to 50.)

My friend showed up, panting. She glanced over her shoulder, her face all alight, perhaps even delighted. 'It's coming' she said, with an awestricken delivery of her quivering voice. The forsaken dish of pizza was cast aside, as we took to our heels. "He was given dandelions" she added, with a grin and a hastening of her steps.

Although they tried to send him away before, this was the first time anyone got rid of him for good. Maybe it isn't all that trendy to stick around once your welcome's been worn out, but that never seemed to stop The Whispering Lord. That is, until the moment when death snuck in the back door. It's a funny thing to call it though (since he was already haunting the castle for some time having left his physical form by then after years of infamous terrorizing as a student) but even dauntless ghosts must continue our long journey home, sooner or later. Pretend what you will, just know that when that graduating class of Seventh Years met up in the Ravenclaw Common Room to cast their spells and perform their rituals as a farewell gift to the Staff and their schooling days, it was one of the most pivotal and highly mysterious events to occur within these halls of Hogwarts.

For some seventh years, the prospect of leaving Hogwarts is a heartrending experience. Even though they have endured Binns, OWLs, and NEWTs, the real world seems somehow worse. If you don’t have a house-elf, how do you keep your bed warm, your clothes clean, and a never-ending supply of favorite treats on the table? Just remember, you are not friendless. And some of you are destined to become legendary.
