March Prompt: Spring is Time for Growth

Post by Prof. Will Lestrange »

As a new month begins, we also get to see a new season - spring - start sometime this month! And as everything around us is growing, this makes the perfect prompt for this challenge!

For this month, your task is to write at least 50 words about some sort of development and growth (this can be about things outside growing because it's spring... or personal development... or anything else that reasonably fits). on This month's twist is that each sentence must be growing as well: other than the first word in each sentence, each word must be longer than its immediate predecessor in your writing. (So "I am the king" is okay: word lengths are 1-2-3-4, as is "You are the king" with word lengths 3-3-3-4.)

The deadline is March 31 at 11:59 PM HOL; completing this prompt will earn you 20 hoots. (Partial credit will be given in the form of 2 hoots for every 5 words up to 50.)

I am up and out the door -- look! The sun's bright! Trees, shrubs, bushes bearing vividly emerald needles, leaflets, sunshine energized. They show growth rampantly exuberant ... A deep, quick breath alerts senses abruptly.
I go back inside, shivering. I look then grab outside accoutrements. It's cold outside! It's still frozen winter!
