On Spoilers

Post by Iverian Gnash »

Using spoiler tags is mandatory for all posts discussing plot or character revealing details. Please, everyone, remember that we are an international community with members from dozens of countries, and what might be released in your country might take some time to be released in another.

How to use a spoiler-tag:

Spoiler tag works like this:

Ron Weasley is the Half-Blood Prince.

Code: Select all

Ron Weasley is [Spoiler]the Half-Blood Prince.[/Spoiler]

Simply add [ Spoiler ] before and [ /Spoiler ] after the text you want to hide (no spaces) or use this code:

Code: Select all

Text text text [Spoiler]spoiler spoiler spoiler.[/Spoiler]

To read a tagged spoiler, simply move your mouse into the black box and highlight the text, then you can read it. It is impossible to accidentally read the text, you will have to actively highlight it.

These tags should be used ANY time you are referring to a specific scene or anything important that happens in future Harry Potter releases. If you are not sure whether something is a spoiler or not, put it under the tags regardless. Better to be safe than sorry.

Please do not put any spoilers in the topic titles. The most recent topics show up in the main forum index and we certainly do not want people who are avoiding spoilers to see them.

Sending spoiling PMs through any of the forums or spoiling in IRC channels will also not be tolerated.

Spoiler tags needed when discussing:

General:
  • All new world-building and revealed character-specific information from the Wizarding World (previously Pottermore) when not easily accessible on the website itself.
  • All new information pertaining to future books, movies, TV shows and other media set in the Harry Potter world until at least six months pass from their release dates.
Specific:
  • Fantastic Beasts 3 cast, filming and general plot-revealing information until six months after the movie’s release.
  • Hogwarts Legacy specific plot or character plot-revealing information until six months after the game's release.
Example: Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to be released on November 12th, 2021. That means that spoiler tags must be used at least until May 12th, 2022.

No spoiler tags needed when discussing:
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Movie
  • Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

However, if you have not read or watched anything on the no-spoiler list above, then you read at your own risk.
