June 2020 HOLLERS Newsletter

House Cup Standings
As of 11:59 PM HOL on May 31, 2020, the House Cup standings are as below. We're entering into the home stretch of the year, though (two members of HOLLERS staff - Polaris (Head) and Will (Assistant) - are going to graduate this year #classof2020), so things can change as people complete their spring term classes!

House News
Below are the exciting things planned in each House for June! As always, remember that each House's common room must be signed up separately from the main HOL forums. You can sign up for every House's forum, not just your own! A few of the other Houses' secrets may be hidden from you, but that doesn't mean you can't still have fun there!

Gryffindor
There is another quest in Gryffindor for the month of June; it involves finding treasure! Lions should take note of an End-of-Year-Feast in honour of Prefect In Charge Sky's final year as a student - and everyone who wishes to submit to the Paw Print: the deadline is June 21! And you may want to keep your eyes open for a summer camp in July...

Slytherin
For the second time in five years, the Slytherin dungeons are flooded! If you're up to navigating your way through the water, you can work your way through a variety of tasks to reach for the Emerald Cup. And if you want to take a break from that, you can head on over to the Arcade Club to try and stop the flood by laying down pipes in the classic game of Pipe Dream!

Ravenclaw
After last month's MAYhem, there's more excitement to be had in the Ravenclaw Roost! This month's activity will be called "Piecing Together Summer" and every week there will be a series of summer themed jigsaw puzzles to solve.

Hufflepuff
We may have just finished celebrating May holidays, but there's still fun to be had in the Hufflepuff Sett this month! As usual, the Department of Huffle Games and Sports will have three puzzle challenges for you.

News From Around HOL

Check out the HOL Calendar to see what's going on in the school as a whole. If you have questions about when Term begins and ends, when Quidditch starts or other items of general interest, that is a source of information to be aware of.

Book Club
With a new month comes a new Quick Quotes prompt: we'll be starting this month by giving literary quotes about the moment in a fairy tale when someone is cursed! And we're planning on an adventure which starts this summer. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!

HOLLERS
As always, in each new month, we post 3 new puzzles in our Monthly Challenges. Check out the Creative Outlet section of the HOLLERS Forum, for both Writing Under Constraint and different options for you to be creative!

Remember too - you are welcome to participate and post in The Scrapbook. We've a place for you to put your HOL Memories! Click to read more.

HOL Departments

Less than two weeks to turn in projects for the Art Department's final challenges of the academic year! There are four prompts to inspire you: Lost and Found, Congratulatory Banners, Yearly Gains, and Refurbished Trunks. Remember that all projects for these prompts must be submitted by June 14 at 11:59 PM HOL!

Because the school year is ending, the deadlines for the Library Department's final challenges of the school year will be earlier than normal: all projects must be submitted by June 14 at 11:59 PM HOL! There are four prompts to inspire you: Leaving Hogwarts, How Inventive, Small Talk, and It's a Secret!

Quidditch - The regular season for the year finished with the Quidditch Cup in Slytherin hands! As for future plans on the pitch: the Head Office has plans to revamp the game and make it better than ever; while there may not be any official Quidditch stuff this summer - or next year - if you can wait until 2021 or so, your patience will be rewarded!

Thanks to Arianna, Ivey, Kendra, Sky, and Tarma for helping with this newsletter on such short notice!
