The words for this week are:
Spider, rose, deer
Looking at the spider with deer-in-the-headlight eyes, I closed my hand and crushed the rose I was holding. Dropping the petals to the ground, I hurried away quickly, willing my thudding heart to calm. Call me Ron Weasley, but spiders are definitely not my friend! (45 words)

The deer was about to pass by the rose bush when a glimmer caught its eye. A spider was working hard, weaving a web between the flowers, which caused a glimmer as the sun hit it. The deer watched until the sound of a snapping branch nearby scared it away. (50 words)

As she rose from her throne, quiet violence in her eyes, the queen regent’s dark tresses unraveled over elaborately sewn furs across her shoulders. A spider, legs twitching open after a single quiver from its web.
The deer was a grave loss. We knew she couldn’t allow him to forget. (50 words)

A spider scurried across the leaves of the rose-bush, in a hurry to reach its web. The patter of trotting feet distracted me, and I noticed a deer grazing gaily just before it sprinted. "What a diversely populated, mesmerizing forest!", I thought, smelling a single rose. (47 words)

The spider rose up on its long, long, very long legs. Startled, the deer watched as the arachnid soon stood taller than itself. "Oh, my" she thought to herself, stepping delicately away. "Clover [the spider] shouldn't have eaten that cupcake from Alice!" (42 words)

The words for this week are:
Midnight, snow, blue
I found out the hard way that walking in the snow at midnight will turn your nose blue with cold. Merlin knows why I thought it would be a good idea to walk home instead of hailing a taxi. Halfway there, I regretted that choice; lesson learned the hard way! (50 words)

The forecast predicted snow for Christmas, stirring up nostalgia. However, there was no snow in sight by midnight, only rain. We spent the entire day hoping our blue Christmas would turn white, but we had no luck, simmering in our disappointment as someone mumbled, "Maybe next year?" (47 words)

The midnight blue night sky shimmers and glimmers between grey appearing clouds in the vastness of Life. I watch, entranced, as sparkles of whiteness, of silver gleaming, fall from the clouds. My face is feathered with tiny snow flakes as I look upwards, watching them spiral and float down. (49 words)

Snow fell at midnight, covering up our tracks. I leaned on his arm, draped in his blue jacket, as we walked together towards the town square, where our paths led away from each other. It had been a long day and I sincerely hoped for a brighter morning tomorrow. (49 words)

Happy December, folks! Our first words of this month are:
book, fountain, apple
She sat on the edge of the fountain, idly turning the pages of the book she was pretending to read. She started as an apple landed next to her. She smiled at the boy who had dropped it there. " A simple hello would have sufficed," she teased. (48 words)

She navigated the mall, excited to show her friend the final draft, which will one day be a published book. Walking beside the fountain, she carelessly tripped, falling in and drenching her work, the apple of her eye, leaving her inconsolable in the middle of the mall. (47 words)

Juliet was eating an apple, anxious, as she paced around the fountain, waiting for Romeo to arrive. It was an hour before Romeo finally arrived, smiling, a thick book tucked under his arm. (33 words)

She opened the book eagerly. This was a special book. As she read the first sentences, she fell into the book and landed in the basin of the fountain. Splash! The faun, seated on the basin's wall, munching on an apple, giggled. "Another one!" he said. (46 words)

The apple looks sickly after scribbling with your fountain pen for longer than you can recall. An open book of empty pages in your lap is such a gift on days like this.

He set off on his journey armed only with a waterskin and trusty flute. He was off to rescue the princess because that is what heroes did, or so he was told. Besides, who could resist the reward being offered, namely, a shiny bag of gold?! Onward to glory! (49 words)

He booked a voyage, needing to escape from his hometown and see the world, paying with a bag of gold. He quickly got bored on the ship, so the kind crew taught him to play the flute. It kept him busy until they again reached land, off to new adventures. (50 words)

She upended the huge, and worthless to her, bag of gold onto the carpet. Pawing through coins small and large, she searched until a shape 'other' than coin caught her eye. "There it is!" she cried, gladly, then lifted the flute to her lips, to play 'The Merry Voyage'. (49 words)

This week’s words are:
Wind, snow, heat
The wind blew the snow in every direction, and the girl shivered with cold. She would give her last farthing for a warm coat or fire, any sort of heat source would do at this point. Alas, she had no choice but to do without.(45 words)

How could this be? The desert wind was blowing ferociously, whipping sand into his eyes, swirling and creating havoc. Yet, oddly, as he stood in the heat of this tremendous gale, he thought he could perceive flakes of snow driven with the grains of fine sand. (46 words)
