HOL 5.0

HOL 5.0 is an entirely new website with infrastructure tailor-made to provide an efficient, intuitive and above all, magical experience. Currently, the main building blocks of the HOL experience are in place: profile, existing pets, the home page, classes, points, awards and quills are all coded and functioning. The HOL forum has also received a minor overhaul to bring it in line with the new look and feel.

As intensive a process as it was, this complete rebuild was necessary due to the aging code of the old version of the HOL website being entirely unsustainable for another school year. To make the website compatible with modern technology and to ensure its longevity, we had to start everything from scratch and redesign every process that goes into making the school what it is.

In the coming weeks, the focus will be on refining functions to ensure the school year can start as smoothly as possible. This means you won’t see immediate changes or flashy features being released just yet as we have to focus on staff tools to allow classes to go as planned. Rest assured that by the start of term, work will begin on releasing features to make the experience more pleasurable and interactive for everyone.

We will be maintaining version control and will be including change logs for each new update we bring out.
