Re: Spring 2016 Introductions

Hi everyone! I'm Ariella McManus, 5th year Ravenclaw Prefect. Currently, in addition to this class, I am taking Ancient Civilizations, HOL Exchange Program: Beauxbatons, Magic in Famous Mysteries, Astrology and Harry Potter, as well as the dreaded OWLS. I also teach my own mythology class, which dea...

Re: Favorite Musicals

Oh man, the list is almost too long to start! I have always adored musicals, and even was fortunate enough to be a part of some during my younger years. Anyway, some of my favourites are West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Phantom of the Opera, and Cats. I want to see The Last Five Years and Wicked (whic...

The Walking Dead

I know there has to be some fans out there! What are your thoughts on the show? Anything you don't like about it or wish they would change? Although I must confess that I am not the biggest fan, my husband loves it and so I get to be a fan by proxy :D Discuss, people!!!

Supergirl

I've yet to check this one out. Has anyone seen it? The previews looked fairly decent, but would love to hear some opinions before I tune in :D

Opinion of spin-off tv shows?

What is your opinion of spin-offs? Do you find them as good as the original show? Better? Worse? What are some of your favourite (or least favourite) spin-offs? For myself, I love the original NCIS, but I would have to say that NCIS New Orleans probably outranks it now. Of course, I think that the N...

Re: Doctor Who!

I'm still not completely sold on either Clara or Missy, but after seeing the trailers, I have to admit that I'm pretty excited as well. I guess I'll trust the Moff on this one and see how it goes. I do know a fair amount of people, though, we said they will not be watching it anymore due to the dire...

Re: Your Favourite Shows

For me it's Doctor Who (obviously), Sherlock, pretty much any cooking show, and this week my 'guilty pleasure' Project Runway starts!

Re: Sherlock BBC

I need to catch up, too. The good thing is, there is a long looooooooooong period between seasons, so that should be no problem. :P

Breaking News (Aka The Dreaded Rules)

"I interrupt your regularly scheduled programme for the following breaking news...." Put down that remote! You cannot change the channel because this is very important stuff!! I know, I know, rules are BORING and you would rather watch (read) something else, but if we don't follow some sort of deco...

Re: Board games or video games

I actually like both, though to be honest, I probably play more computer games than anything else these days. When I can corral the family long enough to be in one place, my favourite board games to play are Clue, Doctor Who Monopoly, or the Walking Dead strategy game. (Yes, fandoms rule in our hous...

Re: Doctor Who!

Who's excited for Season 9?! I am..and I'm not. For the first time since the Davison era, I have serious reservations. But that aside, we really do need to start a Doctor Who Fan Club :D

Re: Sherlock BBC

I absolutely LOVE this show! The casting is perfect, and Steven Moffatt as showrunner does a fantastic job. It's frustrating because you have to wait so long between seasons, but definitely worth the wait.

I think fey is a wonderful word to describe him, Tarma, and I think that's one reason I love him so much. The Doctor isn't supposed to be 'human', he's an alien for Merlin's sake! I've seen complaints on other forums that Capaldi's Doctor is not 'relatable', which I honestly find complete and utter ...

For the record, Capaldi is doing brilliantly as the Doctor, though in my opinion Matt Smith still reigns supreme.

I'm currently playing TS4 and have mixed feelings on it. I love certain aspects like how much detail you can put into character creation and the new interactions (like multi-tasking, etc) are awesome. The game overall has a much more 'realistic' feel to it. However, it is a bit of bummer having to g...
