Re: Assignment Three - Discussion
1. My favourite use for balloons is actually to create shapes. I make bowls out of strips of plaster and to hold the shape while the plaster sets it needs something to hold it up. And preferably something that will give once the bowl is finished so that I can allow the bowl to have a slightly narrow...

Re: Class Questions
I am sorry to only get to you this late Elle, but to answer your question; there are many doll makers out there. Any one of them you wish to use will be fine :) Personally I've always liked using the Dolldivine one, but you by no means have to. Brianna, of course you can always get an alternative i...

The Drabble Babble Challenge Drabble (n.) = "an extremely short work of fiction of exactly one hundred words in length" One theme will be announced per issue. Participants will then write a small piece of fiction (or non-fiction) about that theme. What's the catch? The submission must be a drabble!...

Re: What do you prefer: real or fake trees?
I am absolutely a real-tree kind of Ga(i)l. We've always had a real tree - and NEVER watered it. Our foot for the tree doesn't even have a place to hold water and it usually stands for about a month - it all depends on the kind of tree you get whether they need this or not. I find the fake ones also...

Thank you so much! I had a really great day; I had lunch over video with my parents and then cake in the afternoon with my partner and a movie afterwards. It really was a lovely day and I am so glad to see all your wishes here.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Birthdays: Favorite Gift?
The best gift I ever got was a number of letters written to one of my role play characters - they told a story when taken together and they were all handwritten and looked appropriate to where and when in the story they were written. It was amazing and I love how much thought and work had gone into ...

Pen & Paper Role Playing Games
For years now I've been part of a weekly role play campaign and I have to say I love it. Through our time we've gone through quite a few different systems for playing - we started out with FATE and have since gone through I think five or so different systems that have been tweaked to not be too jarr...

Old Toys
I've been doing some cleaning lately - and by that I mean some serious cleaning, going through a lot of the boxes that have been stored in the attic from my childhood and found... a lot of toys - Who'd have thought. Most of them I've now either donated or thrown out depending on their condition, but...

Re: Sewing help!
One of the things I found very helpful is to make sure that the thread I use is good quality. It really makes a difference because the machine will feed it through far more evenly than the lower quality ones. So even if you think the lower quality ones are fine strengthwise when you've used them to ...

Re: Which Harry Potter pet would you like to have and why?
Owls are certainly useful and while at Hogwarts where there is the owlery and they can be taken care of, I would expect they aren't that much work either, but as a pet otherwise... I don't think I'd much enjoy an owl. I just wouldn't want to take care of a bird. I would very much prefer a cat; I cou...

Re: Sims 4 & Expansions + Mods
I totally understand what you mean Mia - and for me there's also some excitement missing that was there in the previous generations. For me though I am sure it's not that I am outgrowing playing the sims, but simply that some of the gameplayfeatures I enjoy and which the previous generations often h...

Re: A Student by any other name....
That is a really interesting question indeed. I think I would probably pick another name, unless it was a site where I knew a lot of other HOLers would be as well in which case I might want to be able to be identified by them and therefore would like to go by the same name. For a different fandom th...
