Re: Book Bout - Bookmarks - Odd or Not

I am one of those heathens that rarely use a bookmark, but that does not mean that I dog-ear a book. I mostly just use whatever paper or flat thing that I have on hand and shove it between the pages. I do have bookmarks though, mostly promotional material or swag that was around when I order books f...

Re: Book Bout - Fictional modes of transportation

Quite a difficult choice, since all modes of transportation that I know of have some sort of drawbacks to them that I would make me swear off of them. However, I think I would prefer to travel with a TARDIS the most (despite me not being that big of a fan of Doctor Who in general). It is a ship that...

Re: Book Bout - A New Place to Read

There is a nook by the right side of our house that is sort of a loop. I believe that it used to house either flowers or some other sort of plant, but now it is bare since I moved in. The bottom of the loop is perfect for my body to curl into and read, if I had the book placed on my knees/legs. Pad ...

Re: Your Favourite Scent?

Oh, I have quite a few. I love the smell of woodsmoke, when I am outside, either walking, camping, toasting marshmallows. Basically, I like it when I am outside. Due to it, I also love bonfires. For indoor smells, I like hints of lavender, but most of all, clean cotton. I have quite a few candles of...

Re: If you were a witch/wizard, what would your dream job be?

Hm, interesting question that I have trouble answering. I would say something along with my RL job, so something to do in law, but it does not seem that the British Wizarding World has anything resembling lawyers. I also enjoyed my years as a Teaching Assistant, so perhaps a professor or a researche...

Re: Book Bout - Reading about Journeys

I think that our love of adventure mostly stems from the want or wish to visit places that we cannot, either because they are too far away or simply do not exist. For some, me included, I think it also represents a place in which we can escape when the troubles of the real world are weighing too muc...

Re: Book Bout - A Tour of your Shelf

Heh, this post is funny because only yesterday I was rearranging my book shelf. I have three big wooden bookshelves; I think they are made from oak, not sure to be honest. One is set on the shortest wall and has four shelves and the other two are thinner, but taller (six shelves) on opposite sides o...

Earworms

What exactly is an earworm? Sometimes also known as a brainworm, sticky music, stuck song syndrome, or Involuntary Musical Imagery (IMI) is a catchy piece of music that continually repeats through a person's mind after it is no longer playing. Basically, that song that gets suck in your head after y...

Re: TV Crossovers

It really depends on how the crossover is done, for me. I like it, or at least see it as interesting, when it is a small, short cameo, maybe one episode long. As Amy mentioned, Brooklyn Nine-Nine did that with New Girl and did it right. I do not watch New Girl, so I did not feel as if I were out of ...

Re: What gaming system do you prefer and what game is your favorite?

My favorite platform is my PC. I think it handles HD graphics the best and makes for a smoother game play. I also started to like VR, but there still needs to be a lot of advances on that field to hold up to the games on other platforms. As for my favorite games, they tend to come and go, but I stil...

Re: Harry Potter Gear and Magical Meets!

I have sooooo much Harry Potter merch, it is not even funny. >____> Despite it all, I have little HP merch that I have with me constantly. I have Harry Potter themed clothes, but most of them are comfy, for-home clothing and I rarely go out with them in public, since I dress nicer when I leave the s...

Re: Doctor Who!

Third time is the charm? As some may know, I have a love-hate relationship with Doctor Who series, which may be surprising, considering I loved Torchwood (until Children of Earth that is... <_< ). I loved Eccleston as a Doctor, but stopped watching after Rose stopped being a companion . Tried some e...

I am giving 19 beans to Sky Alton . Throughout the years you have been a great friend, confidante, mentor and troublemaker-in-arms to me. I could not have asked for a better best HOL friend.
