https://i.postimg.cc/5NGgVb0K/prompt3.png This character crest represents Dirk Gently from Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency by Douglas Adams. Although, it is a bit of a mix between book and TV Dirk. Crest itself is a square, which might be unusual for a crest, but Dirk is an unusual characte...

Re: The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher

I usually dislike reading (auto)biographies, but a friend recommended Carrie Fisher’s The Princess Diarist to me saying it is “not like the other girls”. Since they are pretty spot on with their recommendations, I decided to check it out. Boy, was I glad I did. The book is just how I imagined Carrie...

Re: Getting to Know You

I might have mentioned this fact a few times in my HOL life, but I love to bake. I bake when I am happy, sad, stressed, or just because I feel like it. Therefore, I would like to think that I am rather good at it. However, interestingly enough, I mostly suck at cooking. This is a mystery that baffle...

Re: Reading With the Awards

As I mentioned in my post before, my reading of the books is not dependent if they get an award or not. However, from time to time, I do glance at a recent book awards lists to get some fresh idea on what to read next. While I already heard it came out, when I saw it on Goodreads award list, I had t...

Re: Marginalized Authors

One of such books that also stayed with me for a long time was Slave by Mende Nazer, written with the help of Damien Lewis. I picked it up by chance one day at a library in my late teens and the story still resonates with me. Slave tells Mende Nazer’s story, first some tales about her childhood in a...

Re: Opinions on Sequel Series

I think it largely depends on the series. Some are done really well, for example the original Harry Potter collection, but then there are some that as the books are written, it becomes obvious that they are mostly in it just for the money and have lost that something what made the first books great....

Interactive Television

While you might have only heard about interactive television in the past year or so, it has actually been around in some form or other since 1980s. With interactive television, you are not just a watcher of a TV show, you are actually an active participant. You decide how an episode (or a movie for ...
