Re: The Big Bang Theory

I'm still going strong with this one. I'm still not totally on board with Howard and Bernadette, but I've learned to tolerate them better. My favourite character, by far, is Sheldon.

Movie Adaptations of Books

Even though I generally find myself liking the book far better than the movie, there have been some adaptations that I do really enjoy. One that springs to mind instantly is The Shining by Stephen King. I thought Kubriak did a remarkable rendition of it and gave us some of the most iconic scenes eve...

Favourite Genre?

If you're anything like me, you don't limit yourself to just one genre. But, that being said, everyone has their personal favourites. For me it would either be mystery or horror. What about you?

Re: Whose Stone is it Anyway?

I'm not sure it's fair to say that the title was "dumbed down" for the American audience. To me it seems more like a question of culture. Firstly, the alchemists of legend, including Nocolas Flamel, were not really a part of our nation''s shared history, having lived almost 4 centuries before our n...

Re: Does Magic Last?

What first drew me to Harry Potter wasn't so much of a "what" as a "who". In my mind, Harry Potter was a children's series, and it wasn't until my daughter finally wore me down that I even considered giving them a glance. Like a nice mom, I took her to see the first movie, and after getting lost in ...

Remakes

It seems that the new trend in Hollywood is remakes. The one that comes to mind for me is the upcoming "IT" based on the novel by Stephen King. I'll give it a whirl, but to be honest, I'm expecting to be disappointed. Tim Curry WAS Pennywise, and I don't know that anyone else can top (or even come c...

Cancelled Shows

I know it's a few months before the Fall TV season starts again, but we already know that (unfortunately) not all of our favourite shows will make the cut for next season. Which of your favourite shows have been cancelled/ended? For me, it's Bones. Even though I haven't watched that one in ages, it ...

Re: The Big Bang Theory

The ones I could actually do without are Howard and Bernadette. I don't hate them; but they are definitely my least favourite characters. Penny reminds me of myself a little; I like to tease my husband and say that he is my 'Leonard'.

Re: Doctor Who!

Bill really is a breath of fresh air that has been badly needed for a few series now. I always liked Capaldi's Doctor, but with Bill he really seems to come into his own. It will be interesting to see where Chibnall takes it next series, and I am a little excited for that. Despite all my grumbling, ...

Re: Doctor Who!

A person after my own heart!! I absolutely could not stand SHE-who-should-not-be-named!! I was never so glad to see the end of a character, and that includes Melanie Bush (yeah, I'm that old and been watching Doctor Who for a long time  ). As for Bill, I absolutely adore her. She honestly ...

The Big Bang Theory

As a rule, I generally do not like comedies. And yes, I know that this show has been on awhile, but I honestly never felt the urge to watch. Boredom (and a persistent hubby) finally won out and now I'm totally hooked. Any other BBT fans out there? Who is your favourite character? Mine by far, is She...
