I saw a VERY short preview for the movie, and was still super excited for it. So I think I need to read these books. My little brother loves them, and we tend to have similar interests, so I'm hoping I'll love them too.

Oh, my dad told me about these books, he'd heard something about them on NPR. They sound super good, just the kind of YA books I like. Must remember to pick the first book up next time I hit the bookstore.

I have a few fantasy series to recommend...most of them aren't YA, though. Firstly, The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. A very long series which has been going on since the early 90s and still isn't quite done, but it's epic. Really good world, plot, characters. Also, the Codex Alera series b...

To echo several others here, Harry Potter, of course, is one of my favorite series. I also love all the series by David Eddings...I guess if i had to pick one, I would say The Mallorean is my favorite. Or maybe The Belgariad :D Twilight is all right; I don't think it's fantastic, but I enjoy that se...

Well, first of all, disclaimer, I'll see any kind of movie and will probably enjoy it. That said, action movies are my favorite. Seriously, they don't even have to have an especially good plot (although that really helps - Star Trek XI, anyone? :D ), as long as they've got good action scenes that ge...

Aladdin is my absolute favorite (and it's like the only one I don't have on DVD!). Aladdin is such a rascal, which is my favorite type of character, and Jasmine is a really tough chick, not your usual princess. I also like a lot of animal ones, mostly because I wanted to be an animal when I was a ki...

I also love Sarah Dessen, Analeia. And Tamora Pierce, I see a few people have mentioned her. I haven't read nearly all her books though. Only the Circle of Magic series and its sequel series. I also love David Eddings. He's probably my all-time favorite author. Except for his last series, I've read ...

Hey everyone! I'm Isabel, and I'm a new First Year in Slytherin House. In RL I'm 21 (will be 22 in September!) and I'm from Texas, although I'm moving to California in a couple of weeks. I also lived in London, England, as a kid, and I went to college in Boston. I'm an avid reader and writer, favori...

I picked 'Isabel' because it's the Spanish version of my RL name. For my surname, I wanted to pick a name from the books, but one of a very minor character, who was barely mentioned. I like 'Moon,' I've used it in fanfictions before.
